When students think of places to eat at The College of Wooster campus, they might think of Lowry or Kittredge, two prominent spots that produce probably the most food on campus. For most students, Lowry is a center to get seriously unhealthy food with very few options for people with dietary restrictions. Kittredge, while providing “edible” food to the students, still lacks in options and is often closed for most hours of the day. Thus, students at the college are facing a serious lack of food options and times to get it, suffering under the conditions of not only stress, but for most malnutrition as well. However, in this last semester the college has introduced a new food option: BooBears. With the introduction of BooBears, a private contractor working with the school to supply both coffee and food, healthier options started to appear in the diets of the students here at the college. Previously called Old Main, BooBears sports a plethora of healthy options ranging from microwavable meals to nutritional bars. These options have greatly helped students who have been struggling with the food on campus, supplying them with not only healthier options but a wide range of times to get it.

In my own experience the food at BooBears is delicious. As someone who was personally struggling with food consumption at the college, I am really thankful that this option is available. I have always been someone who struggles with food consumption and having this option has made eating more bearable for myself. I wanted to detail in this blog my personal favorites at BooBears, encouraging everyone to give their food a try. For starters, there are these fabulous cold vegan noodles that are absolutely to die for. I remember going through a period of three weeks where I only ate those noodles. In addition to this, they have fantastic vegan Mexican corn wraps that are both sweet and salty, a wonderful lunch time meal. Over the past break at the college, I knew I would need to stock up on food from BooBears which would be closed. I managed to get my hands on a bunch of microwavable meals to freeze and use throughout the break. I tried several meals from the turkey dinner to the spaghetti and meatballs which were both absolutely amazing. In my opinion, BooBears sports the best food on campus. If you are anything like me, struggling with eating food and finding healthy options for yourself, I would highly recommend going to BooBears to find these options.
